About the event
This one day course is designed for all walks of shooters looking to begin their journey into long range shooting. In this level 1 class students will learn the fundamentals of long range marksmanship and develop practice techniques to extend their effective range on long range targets. Topics will include.
- Selecting components and electronics for successful long range shooting
- Optics- First Focal plane, 2nd Focal Plane, MOA, Mil
- Proper Scope leveling and the importance of a bubble level on your rifle
- Max effective range and terminal performance on game
- Proper marksmanship techniques- trigger press, breathing and followthrough
- Internal and external ballistics
- Using a Ballistics solver
- G1 and G7 Ballistic profiles
- Barrel twist rate and bullet stabilization
- Factory ammunition vs hand loaded ammunition
- Introductory wind reading techniques
- Techniques to true velocity and BC
